Position Overview:
We are seeking a Python Backend Engineer to join our growing team. This team member will play a vital role in developing the platform, which is core to our product and mission. This is a unique opportunity to join an early-stage startup and be at the forefront of a cutting-edge technology that is poised to disrupt the data industry.
Your Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.
- Collaborate with product, frontend, and data teams to translate business needs into robust technical solutions.
- Own the full lifecycle of backend features — from architecture and implementation to testing, deployment, and monitoring.
- Take full responsibility for delivering high-quality features and systems in a fast-paced, iterative environment.
- Write self-documenting, maintainable code and produce clear technical documentation to ensure long-term code quality.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- 4+ years of professional experience in backend engineering and Python.
- Strong hands-on experience working with REST APIs, including designing endpoints, optimizing performance, and ensuring scalability and security.
- Proficiency working with SQL databases.
- Familiarity with common integrations around payments and digital document workflows.
- Strong commitment to writing well-structured, self-documenting code, along with clear and concise technical documentation to support it.
- A customer-focused mindset and a passion for solving technical challenges.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and engagingly.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, and comfort working in a dynamic and iterative environment with evolving objectives.
